Traveling from Kathmandu in Nepal by Bus to Tibet Nepal border, crossing over to Tibet China and from there trecherrous travel through Tibetian desert and wilderness for the next
six days to Darchen a camp near Manasarover lake and back to Kathmandu.

From Darchen camp we have to trek around Mount Kailash which takes nearly 3 days and then board this Land cruiser for our return journey to Kathmandu.

Total length of the back breaking journey is 16 days. Virtually this vehicle was our home.

Cedar Waxwing (Bombycilla cedrorum) Landing

This is a montage of a 5 photos of cedar waxwings landing on a stick. A few dozen of them were flycatching over a marshy pond and I tried to catch any of them that landed on this stick. I didn’t know cedar waxwings would flycatch but they kept flying around just over the tops of the reeds zig-zagging, hovering, and darting about, presumably to find and catch small insects.

I stalked to within about 25 yards of these wild, unbaited birds to get these photos. Taken at Appleton Farms, Ipswich, Massachusetts, USA.
