DERBYSHIRE : HOPE : [ A TIME OF NO ELECTRICITY , NO GAS , NO RADIO OR TV . ] The postcard from which the above picture was scanned is over a hundred years old. It certainly shows a time lost long ago – a time when good candles were much more important in everyday life than even motor cars are now.
