Fall in Hope Valley

I was heading to a rather hopeful fall in Hope Valley. And I was hoping that the place would live up to its nomenclature. For the better part of the year, I had been derived of the pleasure of shooting any fall foliage equivalent to the splendour that was the year 2010. And so, I had hoped to find solace out in aspens and cottonwood groves that lined the various highways threading the mountainous terrain of South Lake Tahoe.

And I did. So much so that driving just a 10 mile stretch on one particular highway took me over an hour. Every turn yielded a new photogenic grove that I had to stop and shoot. Every vista yielded some new patterns of color and every trail yielded another opportunity for shooting backlit trees in that beautiful morning light.

And the cycle has come around once again. Fall is here. Will things be magical this year as well? Only time will tell.
