Abandoned

Last weekend the boilersmith’s yard at the old goods shed at Yaxham station was open to the public during the Mid Norfolk Railway. Normally resembling a junk yard, this is normally off limits to the public as it is private property.
This is a World War I narrow gauge (60cm) "Joffre" class 0-6-0T built by Kerr Stuart. I don’t know anything about the history of this machine but was told two parties are seriously interested in buying it with a view to returning it to working order. The yard contains various bits of narrow gauge track and wagons, various traction engines, a standrad gauge Austerity saddle tank under restoration for the MNR, and two other standard gauge locos in a poor condition; a Sentinel shunter and a Cockerill tram engine which was made in Belgium.
