this is my haul from an estate sale i went to recently. on the left is this great metal case full of reel to reel film canisters, a couple even have the reels in them! if you have any idea what to do with these, let me know! i’m thinking maybe a miniscrapbook, but still not sure.

in the middle is the great lamp i bought, complete with aged-looking shade that i love, and needed very badly. probably will paint it eventually, but for now i like the color.

on the left are some of the items i scored in a butter cookie tin for . two old brayers, an old pattern tool, a stamp replica keychain and (my favorite) a old canvas measuring tape.

Junks Aplenty

Just some of the many Halong Bay junks at this Halong City marina. The junks moor offshore and passengers are ferried back and to by tenders. I understand this is just one of the junk departure points and that the other has just as many craft.

The fog/smog that had been so obvious in Hanoi was still present over 100km away in Halong City. I was told it’s just misty.
