as world religions come under attack, i have been thinking about the ordering of the attacks. for instance, notice the rise in anti-islamic and anti-christian/catholic media. the catholic church has its sexually abhorrent priests, et al, while the islamic way of life gives rise to its extremists who engage in "terrorist-like" behavior against their perceived oppressors.

who wins when religions go to war with each other?

today the irish catholic church disassembled its embassy for the vatican. will this set an example? is the catholic church a working facade for a smaller and more powerful elite? if the media begins to strip away the false impressions that the masses have for these long-standing institutions, will impressionable people like u.s. citizens have the mental strength and prowess to read between the lines?

for instance, the idea of jobs is already outdated. we don’t need jobs anymore. it is true that some people really, really need jobs. and they should have jobs. but to believe that a society requires the majority of its members to maintain jobs is not unlike the idea of work setting someone free. this is a platform for aggressively bad behavior.

arbeiten NICHT macht frei!

do people want to be together and get along?
do people seek others for comfort?
than these types of people should be allowed to be together.

jokingly, i think, a friend of mine the other day was saying she thought that virgos should have a special area where only virgos go. if you aren’t a virgo, you can’t go there.

i thought this was funny. astrology, and particularly western astrology, can make people laugh out loud. there are a lot of broad generalizations and proclamations. but i still liked this idea. what if there were places the size of giant cities that only allowed scorpios to enter? or beach resorts and casinos for leos where all the servers were aries?

would this be a more reasonable and gentile way of grouping people? imagine the myers-briggs test being used to sort people into towns and villages. and why not have villages? we all know first hand on the urban west coast of this country what sprawl can do to the soul.

right now the ordering system is pretty clear and under attack. christianity and islam are shielding the directors of the global wars. the nations that adhere to the ludicrous and outdated ideas of both these world religions will be used in the same way that all human shields are used.

i believe that this nation still has an opportunity to embrace the spirit of true revolution. true revolution does not seek outside leadership. true revolution brings with it new leadership by virtue of its arrival. true revolution is a concentrated force of people who usurp power.

these people do not make encampments in oakland or carry signs to protest.

and i hate to say it, but facebook is more revolutionary than ben franklin at this point.

parallel to BA and of u parallel to WAwill be parallel to SL, if v*sina = usin (6-{- a); and in this casethe resultant pressure perpendicular to the sail vanishes. Thus, for steady motion we have v sin a — u sin (0 + a).Hence, whenever sin (^ + a) > sin a, we have v >u. Suppose, 7—2 100 MECHANICAL RECREATIONS [CH. V to take one iustance, the sail to be fixed, that is, suppose a tobe a constant. Then w is a maximum if ^ + a = I^tt, that is, if6 is equal to the complement of a. In this case we havev — u cosec a, and therefore v is greater than u. Hence, if thewind makes the same angle a abaft the beam that the sailmakes with the keel, the velocity of the boat will be greaterthan the velocity of the wind. Next, suppose that the boat is running close to the wind,so that the wind is before the beam (see figure below), thenin the same way as before we have v sin a = i* sin {0 + a),or v^mtiL — u sin <^, where <^ = angle Tf^/Sf = tt — ^ – a. Hencev—u sin ^ cosec a. W8

Text Appearing After Image:
L Let w be the component velocity of the boat in the teethof the wind, that is, in the direction AW, Then we havew = v cos BA W = v cos (a + <^) = w sin ^ cosec cl cos (a + ). If ais constant, this is a maximum when <^ = }7r —Ja; and, if <^has this value, then w; = ^ it (cosec a — 1). This formula showsthat w is greater than w, if sin a < J. Thus, if the sailscan be set so that a is less than sin~*|^, that is, rather lessthan 19° 29, and if the wind has the direction above assigned, then the component velocity of the boat in the face of thewind is greater than the velocity of the wind. The above theory is curious, but it must be rememberedthat in practice considerable allowance has to be made forthe fact that no boat for use on water can be constructed inwhich the resistance to motion in the direction of the keelcan be wholly neglected, or which would not drift slightly toleeward if the wind was not dead astern Still this makes less CH.
